Vicky Ott, MA, LPCC-S, Executive Director

Vicky has a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Kentucky and earned her M.A. in Community Counseling from the University of Cincinnati. She is a licensed professional clinical counselor. Vicky first became involved at Fernside as a volunteer in 1988 and has been on staff for the last 20 years. As the Executive Director the past 8 years, she has led the organization through remarkable growth and change. She oversees the day-to-day operations of Fernside as well as new program development and special projects. She is the primary liaison and works closely with our colleagues at Hospice of Cincinnati and TriHealth.

Christi Kettman, Outreach Coordinator

Christi has a B.A. in Psychology from Thomas More College. She is a certified Trauma & Loss School Specialist. She joined Fernside’s staff in 2000 after volunteering for 2 years. Christi coordinates our School Program as well as our Downtown group night. Christi oversees the production of our newsletter and contributes to all of our other publications.

Mary McCutchen, MSW, Volunteer Coordinator

Mary has a B.A. from the University of North Carolina and a MSW from Fresno State University. She joined Fernside’s staff in 1995 after having been a volunteer for 2 years. In addition to coordinating our Volunteer Program, Mary coordinates our Crisis Response Program and our Monday Blue Ash group night. Mary is a founding board member of the National Alliance for Grieving Children and currently serves on their Advisory Council and Symposium Committee.

Sally Ries, Program Coordinator

Sally has a B.A. from Xavier University. She joined the Fernside staff in 2010 after having volunteered for 3 years. Sally coordinates our Camp Program as well as two of our group nights, Sibling Loss and Liberty Township. As an alumnus of the program, Sally feels a special connection to Fernside. Sally also represents Fernside on Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center’s End of Life Care Committee.

Amy Sandmann, Administrative Assistant

Amy has a B.A. in Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Bowling Green State University. Her background is in retail management and she joined our staff in 2016 as Fernside’s Administrative Assistant. Amy welcomes and directs visitors to both Fernside and the Hospice of Cincinnati main office. She is responsible for keeping our office running smoothly, including managing our database and assisting staff in a multitude of ways.

Liz Spanel, MSW, Program Coordinator

Liz holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Dayton and a MSW from The Ohio State University. She recently joined Fernside’s staff in March 2014. Liz coordinates our Community Outreach & Education Program in addition to coordinating East Side, West Side and Tuesday Blue Ash group nights.
